TL/DR; How do I tell for sure if I have factory RKE on a '07 XLT without forscan?

So the family Ranger (not mine, but I get to fix it) wouldn't start the other day and I troubleshot it right away to the cheapie aftermarket key. It fired right up with the genuine Ford key. That prompted the request to get a 2nd genuine Ford key & check into remote keyless costs (it did not come with any FOBS).

The two keys it came with when we got it (bought used just recently), one says Italy and F-150 on it (obviously not OEM), and the other one looks like B in the next link - except the Ford logo has no color, key is clearly stamped S only. Kinda looks like the key might be original - blade shows years of wear.

I read this: https://www.therangerstation.com/tech/ford-chip-key-basics-or-what-blank-key-should-i-buy/

I know the two vendors (Huf and Strattec ) & the stamp on the key (H/S/HA/SA), to get genuine ones that wont cause future headache... Over on FTE (and the manual page 75) there is some info on checking (programming) if it has RKE from the factory.

A bit conflicting info here (they are talking F150's so understandable). I DO have a passenger lock cylinder, and there was no blinking security light on the dash. When I cycle the key 8 times it locks and unlocks the doors. And then since doing that the security light blinks every 2 seconds.... soooo I have factory RKE, no?

What I am planning on doing is getting 2 genuine Ford keys, and getting them with remote buttons built in. Then putting the non-entry key away for safe keeping / throwing away the cheapie. If it is enabled I don't need to get forscan stuff (maybe depends if the amazon key is a clone or unique), if it is not then get the forscan stuff and follow this guide:
