hey, has anyone here done a reg cab long bed ranger on an explorer frame? i was thinking my 87 on a explorer frame so i can get a 4.0 and d35/8.8. does anybody know the wheelbase lengths? if the rear needed to be extended could i use the rear driveshaft from a ranger?
thanks

ok i jus googled and found that the ranger wheelbase is 114" and explorer is 111.9" so the drivetrain would need to be extended around 2". could just the rear axle be moved rearward more or does the whole frame need to be extended? im not worried about being able to mount the factory rear bumper up to the frame again.
thanks

You could do that, why not just chop 2in out of the boxto make it fit? Thats what I'd do, would be cheaper ( unless you already have the parts )....

the only issue i could see is the rear wheel well not matching up. and if that is the case, either chop a section out of the bed or trim it to fit.

i decided if i done that i would flat bed it to make her look like this truck that belongs to holyford86 which is my favourite overall truck on trs
