I got a slipping a4ld.. i know weird right? lol.

Its slips pretty good but other than lucas oil stop slip, is there anything you've heard of than would get me like even a couple more weeks out of it until the stick swap(m5od-r1) I'm gonna do? I could not care less about destroying the tranny lol just need it to propel me for a couple more weeks..

Out of curiuosity what would happen if i put like oh idk some gear oil in there or like, run the tranny on strait out lucas stop slip? lol

Any oil of any kind i could add that might temporarily get me driving a touch bit longer?

as i said, i care not about completely ruining the A4 lol

thx, cheers! :headbang:

Maybe pull the pan and put in a new filter. Not anything else you can do for a automatic without pulling it just filter out the oil. Wipe the pan out with a lint free cloth. Put in a new filter and top it off with high mileage valvoline tranny oil. That might boost the oil pressure for the bands and clutches. If you use anything but atf it wont make it more than a few miles. All it will cost is a pan gasket, filter and a quart or two of DEXRON III

Or you can check the band adjustments maybe snug them up a bit to get a few more miles?

Thx man! yeah was told there might be a bands adjustment thing on the side of the tranny... Do you know how to set them properly? cheers

It is a gamble wether it developes a leak but you loosen the nut then with a torque wrench you turn the center bolt in to 10 ft lbs and note that position. Turn the center bolt out 1 1/2 turns and hold the adjuster bolt as you tighten the nut good.

I am pretty sure it is 1 1/2 turns but could be 2 full turns afte reaching proper torque pressure. In your case hold the ram and loosen the nut and count the turns in to tight to see how bad the bands are. If the clutches are slipping it needs rebuilt.
If there is a chance you want to keep that tranny good pull the pan change the oil and filter. The amount of metal frags in the pan will give you a clue but if you grenade it the swap will be inevitable.
