My 2011 Ranger came with an auto dimming mirror with the temprature and compass. The temperature now always reads 140 degrees. Does anyone know where the sensor would be for the mirror? The dealer :thefinger: has so far been no help even though it is still under warrenty. Thanks for any help in advance.

Although its not ranger specific, I had an exploder that had an ohc, the roof had a pinhole leak or moisture gap or something, corroded the connections, you could check that. The sensor on my exploder was down by the radiator if I recall correctly. It may also be a loose wire, check some of the posts for installing an exploder ohc in a ranger, there's a wire that the trucks use to comp for engine temp/ambient temp, check that wire.

^^^What he said. It is under warranty, correct?? One of my dad's friends has a 2011 and the same thing happened. The dealer replaced the whole unit. It was junk.

yep, if it is under warranty, go up the chain until Ford fixes it. I doubt the dealer wants corporate coming down to them to ask why they are not honoring the factory warranty.

Thanks for the replies. The dealer now says the mirror was not originally installed by Ford. This is PURE AND UTTERLY BS!!! It is precisely the same mirror I've seen come in numerous other Fords. My daughters Taurus came with precisely the same mirror. I am going to a different dealer down in Elmira that has treated me well in the past. Should have gone there first but it is a 40 mile drive. Thanks again for the come backs.

Edit: 97RangerXLT, the last time I contacted Ford Customer Service I never even received a reply. Wife said I should have said pretty please.
