rear drum adjuster help

The small diameter adjuster is wrong for the truck and would never self adjust, it looks like someone jury rigged it on a day when the parts stores were closed. I would get the right adjuster and assemble the brakes properly so you can depend on them, even if it means replacing more parts- shoes for example. It's cheaper than losing your brakes.

My 06 doesn't use one like that. So it's not an older version thing. If anything... the one inch your manual would be older.

I bet if there was a change in design the change would have been the same time the axle flange changed in 98.

The 1 means its a 2001 PN, and the L5Z is the vehicle line, in this case, the ranger
