Hey guys, first post here, hopefully I put this in the right section. So I have a 2004 ranger. Single cab short bed, 2wd. I'm going to be lifting it and putting 35s on it for winter. I'm searching on Craigslist and I came across an 8.8 with disc brake rear for the truck. My question is how do I go about making the disc brake setup work on my existing drum brake setup?

For 04 it should just be hooking up lines and parking cables.

If the axle you are looking at is anything like the one on the 2011, I would stick with drums. Drum shoes and drums are less prone to rust issues, so lasts longer between parts changes. They don’t perform any better than drums on our trucks anyway in my opinion.
