so I'll have 240 bucks in my swap as of now, Im makeing all most everthing myself to cut cost. And withthe efi I would have to fork over around 1000 for the motor and trans, and thats a auto I dont want a auto. I like the 1 wire to the dizzy onthe HEI stuff, it's simple. And when I said tune, i ment if I ever want to go with a bigger cam heads or what ever.
 
I paid $200 for my 302 and it was already set up for EFI... I paid almost as much for the 4bbl intake as I did the whole engine let alone the carb and dizzy.

There really isn't much to make for this project, I tweaked and reused the original trans crossmember and made a throttle cable bracket because I didn't want to tromp through the JY's in the dead of winter trying to find a car old enough to have one...

If you can't pick up the vibe from what others think about your proposed project on here by now you never will.

I did't ask what people thought of how I doin the fule system om my swap, Not trying ot be a dick but i asked how to set up a HEI dizzy. Thanks for the help i'v gotton so far.

FOR THOSE NOT FAMILIAR WITH USING THE GM STYLE HEI DISTRIBUTOR IN A FORD ENGINE. IT'S A VERY SIMPLE HOOKUP. THERE ARE TWO MALE SPADE TERMINALS IN THE CAP. ONE IS MARKED B AND THE OTHER IS MARKED T THE B TERMINAL IS TO GO TO A POWERED SOURCE THAT IS ACTIVE WHEN THE KEY IS IN THE ON POSITION, AND MUST ALSO SUPPLY POWER WHEN IN THE CRANKING POSITION. THE T TERMINAL IS FOR A TACH, IT'S THAT SIMPLE. ALL AUTO SUPPLY AND HARDWARE STORES HAVE SPADE TERMINAL KITS. THIS DIST. ONLY REQUIRES ONE WIRE TO BE UP AND RUNNING. USE AT LEAST A 10 GAUGE WIRE TO THE DIST. IF YOU HAVE AN OLD POINT STYLE FORD, DO NOT USE ANY OF THE OLD WIRING, AS THEY ARE TO SMALL, AND DELETE THE BALLAST RESISTOR FOR SURE.
 
Thanks dude, the whole 3 wires to make it go vroom is nice, another big reson I want a carb is I do alot of DEEP water/mud and right now my coils on my 3.0 suck they get wet and it starts a spitting, I tryed to seal them but with no luck.


Goin to be gutting it pretty soon, still on the look for a engine, I got all the info I need. Kinda dorky but set down and made a list/game plane with ALOT of notes diagrams(sp) and lamanited(sp). So when something goes down or I need to know something pop out the book and turn to what ever page.

People offroad EFI 5.0's all the time.

I made a three ring binder with the plastic sleeves to keep anything interesting I would need with me in the shop so I wouldn't have to worry about getting my laptop greasy. It also made a great place to keep all my reciepts together.
