Yesterday I was driving about 40 mph and my 19 ranger just fell on its face and I had to pull over.
replaced battery , checked fuses and sensors.
when I go to start the car I get 1 click and can hear everything the starter wanting to crank but it doesn’t.
we thought perhaps the starter but would that have caused my truck to stop running while driving ???
Diagnostic test reads camshaft sensor so I’ve ordered this part to replace , but still don’t know of this is the main issue .
any other things I should look at , anyone here have a similar issue ?
also can’t find a starter for my truck anywhere event through ford , says it’s on back order with no timetable for availability

An inop cam sensor would definitely do that. I wouldn't worry about the starter.. but you could test it.

Warranty expired?

So...

Engine stalled while driving now it won’t crank.
You have a code for the crank sensor... whats the exact code?

Can you turn the engine over by hand?
