Credo?... what's that?
Hey guys. I have seen and read about people swapping first and second gen rangers onto bronco or f150 frames. My questions is about 98+ trucks. I have the possibility to get a 1982 jeep cherokee frame with a d44 front and an amc20 rear w/ an amc 360, manual transmission and transfer case. Steering components are all there (steering column, steering box, steering linkages etc.)
Pretty much a 1982 cherokee with no body or interior. Could I swap my 04 ranger body onto that frame? Or would it be easier to swap everything onto the ranger frame?

Thanks for the help guys

I found a similar post ,over on pirate I belive, about putting a ranger body on a wagoner frame. But that thread has no responses

I'm in the middle of swaping a samurai onto a ranger frame and I can tell you from doing that all you got to do is get into it and just deal with what comes up.

So I should just go for it? What about the pedal assembly? And the holes for the transmission and such?

Got a '77 Int'l Scout that would be a good running gear donor for either a Ranger or an El Camino. Wheel bases were all the same. I enjoy the off-the-wall weirdness.

Those are all part of the puzzle.
I had to get the tunnel cut to fit over the auto trana ans working on the front body mounts.
One step at a time.

I want to go ahead and buy the rolling frame and swap my body onto it but then I don't have another vechile to drive when this one is under the knife

Buy yourself a different daily driver. If you can't afford that then you definitely can't afford the body swap. The swap isn't going to happen over a week-end...it'll probably take months. I'd guess 100-200 hours depending on your know-how and tools.
