My 98 ranger 2.5l has been acting up while driving . It jerks and “jumps” AGGRESSIVELY while driving . In any gear and any speed . I bought it off someone on fb and apparently he replaced engine and had receipts . He did let me know about the jerking problem I did notice he did a egr delete so I bought everything and installed . Still had problem. Replaced spark plugs / wires , cam and crank shaft sensor , cleaned out throttle body . I do notice when I disconnect and reconnect the battery . I take it for a spin and it doesn’t do it , until maybe the next drive . Any advice ??? I would appreciate it

I would check codes and get something to watch the fuel trim values while driving/running

You said you did the plugs and wires and crank and cam sensors but is the cam gear lined up correctly? They HATE the cam gear lined up wrong, I know that much... aside from that wouldn't hurt to run compression across the cylinders to see what they are at, how many miles are on it?
