Radius Arm Bushing

I have a 94 /3.0/A4LD/7.5/2 wd. The question that I have is that : can the radius arm bushing be replaced by just removing the lower shock mount , & dropping the I-B ? Dread the job but gonna have to do it soon. Much thanks in advance.

I have replaced the radius arm bushing on a 4x4 [TTB] by undoing the big nut at the end of the arm. It's been a while since doing this, I think I also undid or removed the shock and brake caliper. I then used a 2" ratchet strap to pull the beam forward until the arm dropped out of the radius arm bracket. I can't remember what I tied the strap off to [I think I had the front bumper resting on a skookum sawhorse and tied off to a sawhorse leg] but I would figure out a way to run a doubled 2x4 up against the crossmember and the ground. make sure that there is a shallow v cut in both ends of 2x4 for the strap and crossmember to fit into. run a smaller strap from the bumper down to the end of the 2x4 to prevent the body from lifting when tightening the 2" strap.

It's a rube goldberg contraption but it worked for me as I didn't want to undo the whole front axle. I'm sure there are other "proper" ways.

Another way is to grind off or drill out the rivets holding the rad arm bracket to the frame and replacing with 7/16" grade 8 bolts.
Or drop the beam.
