Hi all,
I recently rebuilt my 2001 ranger 4.0 , I guess it's been over a year now, but it had a myriad of problems as I went along and it was fun hunting down most the problems on my own. I am down to the last few and the B1342 one has me perplexed. I know it points towards the ECU being bad, but the description on my reader points towards the 4x4 module. I can't for the life of me find what a 4x4 module is. I was guessing it may be the transfer case module that's on the passenger side kicker panel, but I also realize it could be a module internal to the ECU. I don't want to throw money at parts in the hope it fixes just to have to hop to a new part.
I'm new here and I spent some time searching, but I haven't seen anyone discuss the above problem and I'm hoping with the large knowledge base here, someone has seen this particular error type. I can get a picture of my reader and what it is outputting if that helps. Thanks for any feedback and I appreciate it insight that comes my way.
