I am trying to find out if the avm hubs will work on my truck it is a 1999 ford ranger 4.0 with #*!%ing vacum hubs :annoyed: i read the info in the tech libary doesn't tell much though what happens to the vacum lines when you switch top the avm manual hubs? and how do you know if you have live axles ?

PVH came in Rangers from 1998-2000. Your truck has the PVH system, and therefore, the AVM hubs will work for you.

You can leave the vacuum lines or just rip them out. They come out from a solenoid located behind the passenger side wheel well cover, towards the front near the header panel.

If you remove the vacuum lines from the solenoid be sure to plug them. I dont think a 99 has live axles.

Manual Lock hubs 1999 Ranger

I love my hubs. Yes the 1999 rangers have Pulse Vaccum Hubs. I will guarntee that the AVM or Rugged Ridge hubs will work. These hubs are actually from the same company (AVM) I bought mine from autopartswarehouse.com. They are really easy to install. 15-20 min counting taking off the tire. no need to plug the vaccum lines. Part number g=for these hubs are 15001.70 just google 15001.70 and they will pop up. Need any help just email me clintadam128@yahoo.com. BUT THEY WILL WORK BEST PURCHASE EVER MADE!!!

1999 Ford Ranger Manual Locking Hubs

Hello, Hope someone can help. I checked the Auto Parts Warehouse website and found the part I thought would fit. It lists a spline count of 44. My mechanic says my truck has a spline count of 42 so there is doubt here that this part will fit my Ranger. I see that others have had great success converting to manual hubs and I'd like to do this too if I find the ones that will fit. Any advice most welcome. Contact me here of at BLM2@Warp.nfld.net
