So I wrecked my 94 4.0 4x4 M50D electric 1354 a couple years ago and just got around to fixing it up. I've had the frame measured and they say it's OK but I'm not so sure. So in searching for new parts on eBay I found a donor/parts vehicle: 94 4.0 4x4 A4LD. It has a bad piston and the tranny is going (classic O/D problems). So how hard would it be to put my engine and tranny into the same year vehicle? As far as I can tell the only things I have to do outside of the actual swap is the hole in the floorboard and swap out computers.
On a side note, will the donor truck power windows and doors work with my computer (old truck didn't have power).

You also have to put in the pedal setup as well, and the power stuff should work in it... not positive as I have power steering and brakes and thats it.

It would probably work to swap just the drivetrain onto the other frame and place your old body with everything already on it and ready. if the are the same specs... but I guess it wouldn't be too bad seeing as you already have 2 complete trucks, You are going to have to swap out the steering columns if the auto had a column shifter.
