I'm looking to put f150 A-arms and f150 spindles on my 2001 ford ranger edge and I'm wondering what I'm am going to need to do with the entire front end suspension to make those work?

Why are you wanting F-150 control arms and spindles in the first place?

If you're after travel, the Dixon Bros or Camburg kits should do better without major mods.

I am looking for travel but i don't really have the money for a kit like those but I am capable of doing the fab work for the F150 partsparts

My suggestion would be to save the cash and do it right. You'd probably spend more time and have more headaches and spend about the same amount of cash to put the F-150 parts on than to buy the kit and bolt it right on. And the entry level Camburg kit is $1700 which ain't bad compared to the Dixon Bros kit which sells for $2500.

That's very true and both of thise kits are great kits I just already have the F150 on hand and wanted to put them on as a temporary thing until I can get camburg's ranger racerunner kit

It wouldn't be too temporary at all I would think. You would be needing to fab up all new mounts for the upper/lower control arms to the frame. Which might require cutting the stock mounts off...

I figured new mounts would need to be made but i was wondering what else i woiuld need to have to done as well to make the arms and spindles work with the truck. Hubs, control arms, ect?

Is your truck 4wd or 2wd (yes I know you have the 4wd suspension)

What year of F-150 and is it 2wd or 4wd?

I have no idea how to do what you want to do but more info might help... if nothing else help the next guy.

I vote to clean out your couch and continue to save your pennies until you can get a bolt on aftermarket kit instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

The truck is a 2 wheel drive and I was planning in using all the parts frok a 2001 f150

you'll have a different lug pattern in the front so you'll need to either run 2 different types of rims or change the rear bolt pattern. you'll need to change all of the mounts on the frame to get the arms to even bolt up, then make shock mounts, then you'll most likely need to crank the hell out of your torsion bars (since the f150 arms are wider) or get the #1 bars from a fx4 level 2 truck. it will be more beneficial to build shock hoops to run a coilover in the front, way better than t-bars no matter what but expensive. plus, i think the steering arms are in a different part of the spindle as on the ranger, so you'll probably have a janky steering angle and it will handle like crap.

save the money you're going to spent (at least 1k, at LEAST) and put it towards real suspension.

Or you could do what you want since it may save you some change till you spend more later!

At least be nice enough to show us how you are doing with it ...... we love entertainment!:icon_rofl:

@doyouquaxu- thanks for the info and advice

@everyone else-thanks for nothing and your jokes and sarcasum about my ideas put me to sleep
