Alright guy's so i have situation here
i only have enough money to purchase 1 of the following:
-powertrax no slip for rear
-new tires 33x10.5x15

My truck currently has prekey mod 2.5"
and beltech 6400 2"

i just got everything installed, i haven't gone out wheeling yet
so i can't comment on the extra clearance i gained

i'm leaning toward the tires, because i found myself always running into clearance issues stock, and there's nothing worse than that!!

i know lockers work wonders, but i'm thinking i wouldn't be able to take full advantage if i don't have proper clearence

i am currently running 31x10.5x15 tires 4.0l 5 speed manual
8.8 28 spline l/s rear

so if you could only pick 1
which would you do and why?
(btw trails here are mainly mud!, washouts)

33's probably !

33s for sure.
but might be some rubbing

mine rub on the sway bar..but i have a 6 inch lift, that's it.

Jatraymer360 Yours is a 93 & Maclgallant's is a 2008 so the suspension is totally different & tire rub on the sway bars could be fixed with a different offset wheel or wheel spacers

If it was me I would most definately go for the new tires being as you do have a L/S rear end. If you had a open diff, then I would of said go for the locker ,but with the L/S you at least have a better set up then open diff.

33's
aussie locker.

It depends. If you don't care about the body, 31s and a locker can go further than 33s and open.

I'd go for the tires first. If your 31s are in decent shape sell them to put money toward a locker.

If the tires are worn out, you'll need new tires soon anyway so you might as well get it done now.

Thats what i though, 33's would give me better clearance, i guess the powertrax no slip wil have to wait until christmas or next summer hahaha

If you get the locker you can weld the front diff ad make better use of the 31's, but if its a daily driven street truck I wouldn't. 33's are gonna kill you gas mileage. I have 4.0 5 spd and 33's, and I upped to some exploder 3.55's I get about 11 mpg. 14 hwy

33's
I'm like you, 31's and mostly miss wet stuff. I need new tires within probably 2 months, so I'm getting 33's instead of other stuff first. Since I'll need them anyways.
