NHTSA Is Investigating Ford Bronco Engine Failures - Jalopnik

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched an investigation into multiple reports of “catastrophic engine failures” at speed in 2021 Ford Bronco models, the the Wall Street Journal is reporting today.

I just saw this the other day. Kinda curious since the 2.7 has been around for a while.

It is not necessarily the 2.7 engine, It is some faulty valve springs or spring keepers that is the problem. All it takes is a bad batch of something critical like that to make a good engine look bad.

The thread on 6g everybody points to only has 61 failures. Out of however many thousands they have built in the last two years that is not that many.
