Hey Guys,

So last Monday I was driving down the road going about 50km/hr and all of a sudden my gas pedal wouldn't work and the brake pedal wouldn't go down. So I coasted into a parking lot and tried to start my truck again. The engine would turn over but there is no fuel getting to it. So I gave my gas tank a bang thinking it is my fuel pump and it started again. Me not wanting to tempt fate again brought it to the dealership thinking it is under warrenty. Turns out is it 217km over warrenty and the dealership determined it was the fuel injectors and all 6 need to be replaced. I have a 05 Ford Ranger Edge Automatic with 60 000km on it and I am thinking there is no way the injector should be going now. So based on my research here I am thinking of changing the fuel filter and running some injector cleaner through the engine. Any thought to what this could be or what I could do to fix it would be great.

Thanks in Advance,

Andrew

usually if you bang on the tank, and it starts, its usually the pump. but if they found the injectors bad, it must be it? i thought they had a 100,000km/60,000 mile powertrain warranty? you can also try to clean the injectors, but i wouldnt think all 6 would go at once.

They said I was 217km over.

i would call ford motor company, explain what is going on, and act pissed! say youve always loved fords and would never buy anything else, but with all the problems your having, you probably wont buy another..... they should warranty it!!!!

I would definitely call Ford. 217 km or 134 miles is really a cop out to not honor a warranty. If you act nice, I imagine you might get the reponse you want. Like pillen said, tell them you are a loyal Ford guy, and this really doesn't help your faith in the company. Going above the dealer's head might be worth it at this point.
