Please HELP ASAP Cant get 1354 back together

A buddy told me that i could pull the back cover off my transfer case to check my chain because I believe it is slipping. I got the back off but cant get it back on!!! I need it for work in the morning. I leaves a gap like something is binding up but I cant get it any further. Please HELP!

I think the shift fork rail pin is what holds it up if the rear cover doesn't drop down all the way. Probably just need to wiggle it around a little.
