They saw you coming, try to get your money back.I bought my wife one once and it was a total piece of crap.

the 2000+ arnt that bad the older ones arnt that bad either but honestly for 800$ thats a good deal even if it only last a couple years the only down side are they are a pig on gas.

well it is a 2.4 DOHC...got some pick me up...it is a piece of crap....but any thing were i dont have to play taxi....lol....but once it dies...bringing it up and down a 4 wheel trail then going on the trailer and to the crush...cant wait!!!!

Buying a woman a car she likes is forgiveable. My wifes car is a '94 (choke) Chrysler New Yorker. I hate it. She loves it.

Geez, a hooker costs less than $100...I could get laid 8 times for the cost of that car (25 times if I paid the asking price)...that's two years of monthly sex or one year bi-monthly sex (you don't need it as much when you're older, eh)...and I wouldn't have to repair the danged thing when it breaks...

J/K...buying the woman you love a car is a sure way to her heart...but you're already there so it's a sure way to keep her around for a while...

My dad had one of those with a FWD V8. A couple years down the road, the transmission crapped out.

He got it fixed at a reputable shop. A couple months, transmission failed again, fixed under warantee.

A couple months later, the transmission went AGAIN! :) Took it back to the shop, and they fixed it.

It went for sale as soon as it got home. But I can't blame the car entirely, there had to be something the shop wasn't doing correctly, and there was no way in hell my dad was going to pay to take it to another one.

But I do have a friend with a 4 banger Dynasty that does pretty well.. Seems like the smaller and crappier they are, the longer they live.. :)

Pete

Edit:
Oh, and I had a friend with a Grand Prix from that era, it worked well until he put RWD rims on it.. Ate up the transmission..

You forgot to factor in the cost of STD treatment. :D

i beat the piss out of one of those once when I was still a dumb ass kid. early 90s make 2 door after a few small trees and a trip through a tv, couch and other assorted junk. it came to rest with a suttle glow under the hood. Which quickly turned into a fiery blaze consuming the entire car. :nopityA:

i had a 93 grand am with the v6 3.3 pulled 25mpg city out of it. never had a major brake in it besides blowing out the rear brake lines. dads got a 92 with a 4banger in it he pulls 37mpg out of it 50% city 50% high way only thing thats ever happend to it is the timing belt jumped

They are what they are.
It's an $800 car.

Now, when it breaks,
you'll do what it takes

to keep her happy.

As her man, you should check her brakes, tires, hoses, belt, change her oil, top everything off, (except brake fluid) wash the insides of the windows and mirrors, clean out the interior and trunk, air up the spare, find the jack and tune all the radio presets.

Right?

Last time I did that for my girlfriends car(truck) it ended up having 6 inches of lift, 33's, Bfg Muds and new paint....

lol

If you can stop once you start, then go for it :D
