PATS 5.0 swap question

I read all I could find regarding PATS but I'm still unsure. I have a standalone 5.0 Ron Francis wiring harness and a Ford Mustang A9L PCM for a 5.0 swap with a T5 tranny. My 1993 Splash was totaled. I have a lead on a clean 2000 Ranger. Do I need to disable the Ranger PATS using the standalone harness and A9L PCM with the T5 for 2000 Ranger swap? Thanks!!!:icon_thumby:

No.

PATS is part of the vehicles stock computer, it can be in 2 parts, PATS module and Computer are paired, but if you won't be using the stock computer then no PATS issue.

If you use the Rangers engine bay fuse box and cab wiring then you will need to ground the Starter Relay in the engine bay fuse box.
PATS system would ground it if Key passed the test, since there would be no PATS then you need to Ground it full time, so key will activate starter motor.

Diagram below
2000 Ranger with 4cyl won't have PATS, so starter relay is ground full time, Black wire.
3.0l or 4.0l will have PATS
PATS module is above Glove box, find it and the Dark Blue/orange stripe wire connected to it, thats the Relays Ground, then ground it in the cab, OR install a switch for your own anti-theft, system :)
