Can anyone here tell me exactly what is in this kit?
"Valve grind gasket set" 1U3Z-6079-AA
I am thinking that do do any valve work you would pull the heads so it would include head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, exhaust gaskets, upper and lower intake gaskets and maybe valve seals and head bolts? Anything else? Anything I have listed above that would not actually be included in this kit? I am looking to save some money by getting this kit instead of picking items piece by piece but can't find this info anywhere? I don't want to order doubles of anything I need but I also don't want to end up waiting on a 2nd order.
I had the common coolant leak from the lower intake gasket and feel like since I am this deep I might as well clean up the heads so I don't have to do it later. I did a leak down test (cold because I have had the truck apart for a few weeks) and got between 35% and 65% leakage on all 6 cylinders. Frankly I would like to re ring the pistons but am not sure I could get them out without splitting the crank case which I don't want to do. My BIL said I might be able to get to the rod bolts from the oil pan but I read somewhere that the oil pan can't be removed when the motor is in the truck. He also told me "it's an old truck stop digging deeper" and I am on the fence. He is a pro and I am not.
