so I've been reading on here and some others have had this issue but nothing I have read seems to help me. I actually have two problems with my ebrake. the first one is that the cable on the rear drivers side is too short and it will actually rub the tire. I am guessing it is because I am lifted or potentially because the explorer bracket is slightly in a different location. Has anybody had to change cables due to this or is it just me? The second problem I have is that the front cable is loose and droops on its way to the bracket at the leaf spring bolt. I looked in my hanes manual and all it said was that the e brake is self adjusting and there are no manual adjustments. It also noted something about a pin inside the cab at the foot pedal that was used to get slack for changing the cable but I started searching and couldn't find anything :icon_confused: any help is greatly appreciated!

sounds like the cable is sticking inside the cover on your drivers side... i had the same problem on the passenger side right after my swap, i think a new section cost maybe 40 dollars at the local dealership, but that was 6 years ago...

well I have an 8.8 that has discs so it doesn't go inside any cover. i can pull it freely. its just literally too short and goes right past my tire

pics? are you using the pbrake cable from the explorer or your old one. but you will prolly need to swap it one way or the other

i am using the parking brake cable from the new explorer axle. i can get pics sometime. I am working at a summer camp so it may be a day or so
