overhead console

i was wondering is there any consoles out there that don't have lights and the other things i just want something that i can put stuff in and dont need the lights or that other things thanx.

I'd like to hear the answer to that question too - although I'd settle for one with some electric lights or something that I could run a hot wire and a ground to from somewhere. The Toyota SUV has a very nice looking one that has mucho pockets but it stretches back to the rear seat and incorporates a drop down TV. Not that practical for even a SC Ranger.

The Ford Explorer OH Console is a direct fit unit and can be wired to have the direction, temp and lights work. As for a non-descript no frills unit - try LMC Truck or JC Whitney.

And as a last resort a piece of MDF/Plywood, some l-brackets and sheet metal/wood screws - tada! a OH shelf . . .

Maybe start a string in the Want To Buy section and see what somebody has sitting on a shelf.

look at one from a 90's areostar. they seem to be pretty simple and alot of areas for crap.
