overdrive shutoff button

I have a 2000 ford ranger and my overdrive off switch does not turn overdrive off for towing does anyone now of any way to fix any help is greatly appreciated

Check fuse 27 (15A), then verify 12v is getting to switch terminal wire (VT/OG wire).
Also check fuse 6 (15A). (There is conflicting info in this EVTM.)

If you short the two switch terminals together VT/OG to TN/WH, OD should be OFF.

If that works, you need a new switch.

There could also be an issue in the column, can't help you with that, other than supplying the two wire colors. Try different tilt positions, if you have tilt wheel steering. That would indicate a wiring problem in the column.
