I picked up a basket case 2000 ranger with the 2.5 that overcharged and now won't start on it's own. wondering if anyone had similar issues and found some key take aways. I'm a certified tech and confident I can get it back on the road but I'm always learning things and wondering if anyone else has dealt with one of these and maybe share some tricks they picked up along the way.

I'm lost already. I'm going to ask a question on behalf of myself and all the others who are baffled bit don't want to ask. "What do you mena when you say it was overcharged?" Is it turbocharged and the pressure got too high? I thought that usually becomes catastrophic to the heads and maybe block.

Sorry about that, I should have specified seller stated that the lights got really bright driving home from work indicating that the voltage regulator wasn't functioning and likely ruined some components due to over current conditions truck can roll start but won't start or shut off with the key. I'm going to dive in with my power probe in the morning and start tracing circuits out. I'm just hoping to gain some insight and hopefully shorten my troubleshooting process and learn along the way.
