O'Reilly rebuilds

Anybody out there ever bought a rebuild from O'Reilly? Need to get an engine soon and there's one right by the house but I wonder if it's worth looking elsewhere?.....(btw i'll be posting this in a few different spots to get more bites.)

I would never buy a reman engine from any of the chains...they do it as cheap as possible, as in just boring out the cylinder that needs it, so 5 cylinders might be stock, 2 might be 30 over, 1 would be 60 over (ive seen this in person straight from the store)...

My uncle got a 318 from them probably 20 years ago, they did something stupid in it and he had to get another.

I wasn't of driving age so I don't remember the specifics but I do know he was pretty upset about it.

My friend has a Carquest reman in his 94 Chevy Silverado. It's been a decent motor so far. It's been in for about 3 years, and easily has 75,000 miles on it. He uses it as his parts running truck for transmission business. I don't know if they use a different company though?

Nope, as adsm stated, go jasper, or have a reputable machine shop rebuild it...

Not to be rude, but that is like going to the hospital and asking for "discount heart surgery". A reman engine is NOT the place you want to cheap out.

just installed a jasper reman 5.4 in a van at work, cost about 3k for the engine and they come with a 3 year 100k mile warranty.
