So I've been trying for a week to order a locker for my track lok 28 spline. First I went to jegs, hey offered me "guaranteed 2nd business day shipping." So I ordered that. They then said that it wouldn't ship for a week. So I canceled it and went to 4wheelparts. They don't have it in the warehouse and the supplyer can't get one. Plus they already took the 500+$

Where can I get one?

Maybe I missed it but Jim doesn't offer one?

For $500 + I'd be getting a grizzly. It would be cheaper to upgrade to an explorer axle for the stronger 31 spline shafts and get an aussie for less than $300. After running a locked 28 spline axle, I have experience they wont last long...

Well they want 200$ to do the Fab work on an explorer 8.8 then 250 at the junkyard plus another locker. So this is cheaper. Anywho, contacted customer support they said there's a national shortage of them and there will be a 5 week wait.

$200 for fab work? What fab work?

Spring and shock perch relocating. Explorer axle does not line up to a Ranger.

And OP go to Summit racing and get a Detroit auto locker. They always have them in stock and ship within 2-3 days just regular ground shipping.

Thought you had to set back lash or something for a detroit

You said you are getting a locker for your trac-lok 28 spline. Im assuming that meant you are buying a lunchbox locker to install in the trac-lok carrier? If that is so $500 as a price for a lunchbox locker its a complete waste of money if that is the case?

The stock carrier in the 8.8 is the weak point, limited slip or not. If you are going to spend that kind of money on a drop in locker just get a Detroit full carrier replacement. A Detroit for the 8.8 is $650. Pull the old carrier and ring gear apart set the ring gear to the Detroit and then mark the ring gear and set it to the pinion. There isn't much to a full carrier replacement if you are not swapping gears as well. If you are staying with your current gears there is no need to set anything up beside the ring gear and that is super easy.

Yeah. I'm keeping my 3.73 for now. Ill regear later. If this is pretty simple id rather go that way
