:icon_rofl: I have a 1997 ranger 2.3 5 speed 2wd the truck had been driving into muddy water. I bought it cheap from craigslist thinking that I would like to pull the motor and put one in from a junk yard. You know to learn something new. I have never pulled a motor before. Well that did not go so well. They sold me the wrong motor. And they would not take it back so i sold in on craigslist and made $25 bucks :icon_thumby: I found a motor 2 miles from my house cracked head so I took the old head off the bad motor. New rings seals gaskets. Leaned tons. Now here is the part that sucks put the motor in (with new clutch) thinking it will just start up. WRONG. Bad fuel pump (installed new one) new relays, starter solenoid 4 days with a volt meter voltage going to pcm voltage going to the injectors voltage going to the ignition switch and the clutch pedal switch. So ignition coils have no spark the fuel pump is not kicking on (no power) the ignition is not turning over, the little red blue wire going to the starter solenoid that tells it to start is not getting any power. The fuel cut off is in working order. I just bought a new pcm from a salvage have not put it in yet. Could this be my problem? O I put a mac computer reader on it and it would not connect.

Any ideas

put in pcm

i put the new pcm in and the fuel pump came on and the mac computer reader picked up on it and connected. Still no crank and red blue wire no power.

Clutch pedal switch (starter safety interlock; pedal must be fully pushed), ignition switch or fuse.

i did RTFM

Checked the switch jumped the switch nothing. The power to it shuts off when the igintion is pushed to start. I found that the timing was off thank god I did not mess up the valves. fixed that now it starts but i have to jump power to the red blue wire. I ran the line from the horn to it as a temp. Honk the horn starts right up:headbang:
