Smashed a massive buck this morning doing 45ish. Threw the deer about 35 feet. Luckly its all cosmetic. No fluids leaking.

Now it really looks like rusty #1

According to carpart theres a grill close by for 50 bucks. I think i can knock the fender mostly straight.

just sucks

Ouch! Venison for dinner?
It was pretty mangled....

It was dark and i didnt look super close at it but it kinda looked like it blew his ribcage out the opposite side of the hit.

Not really any blood on the truck but there was on the road.

I seen the gore in the headlights (kinda) after i got stopped (plus side...my brakes work great, locked em right up ) and i sat in the truck for a second afraid of what it did to it.

I popped the hood all it did was toss the battery out of position a bit. Didnt see or smell nothing besides the normal oil cooking off the manifold

We are gonna make up stories about how a 3.0L blew your grill off in a drag race.

If its still laying there when i get back ill take one

Unfourtantly the deer was gone. Im guessing a farmer drug it off cause it was right in the middle of the road.

So go ahead and make fun.

But i think it did more damage then i originally thought. Its running and driving fine but i think it tweaked the core support a bit, my hood alignment is a touch off and theres more of a gap between the cowl and drivers fender then there was.

I also noticed theres a smaller gap between the box and cab on the pass side then the drivers. But im fairly certain its been that way, but im questioning it. Doors open and shut fine too.

I cant see how it woulda bent the frame or something though when the main mass of the damn thing hit the grill/support area.

It drives the same...so i think we are good besides the core support. Which...really needs some attention anyways.

Im gonna get a grille/surround and bang out the fender and run it.

1st gens are tough. Mine did a hand stand at 55 and I had about the same damage.

So the 3.0L come around you with such velocity it tweaked the core support and messed up your hood to fender gaps too?

Im glad i wasnt driving my jeep. It woulda destroyed that. Hell i hit a possum and knocked some plastic loose underneath.

Can i straigten the core support if it is indeed bent? Maybe a comealong on a tree?

Thanks. Yeah i was fine...but it was definantly the hardest deer hit ive had.

The one i hit with rusty #1 i was doin 55-60...but it was a smaller deer and i didnt get all of him

I can't see why not. Just know it'll never be the same and will fold easier in another hit.
