I used Wonderbread instead of grease. IIRC it was 4 or 5 slices. Takes a while, but is cleaner than grease. Did it just to see if it would work. I used a washer and a dowel.And a hammer.

Looks like you'll have to source one from another 2.9L or 4.0L flywheel at a junkyard then if you can't find one elsewhere.

I went through this when I converted my Explorer to M5OD. You have to harvest the bushing from a 4.0 flywheel.

The 2.8/2.9 flywheels have a smaller hole that just takes the bearing.

Don't worry about the bearing in the crank. Leave it. I put it into the crank the first time until I learned about the bushing for the 4.0 flywheel. Then I added that when I put a new clutch in with another bearing, and it worked fine with the leftover bearing in the crank.

Now you got me wondering where mine came from when I did my 4.0L clutch swap... (unless it did come with either the clutch kit or the flywheel I bought) I know for sure I didn't have to go tracking one down.

I bought LUK clutch and flywheel and it didn't come in there.
