Old Man

Welcome. There are a lot of smart ones in here. Most are mainly smart ass hahaha. But they are still here.

For real though, it's been a great help to me over the years and glad it helps others as well. Lots of great people and knowledge available.

Hi, I am an old man and I joined the forum because I'm impressed with the knowledge here.
Welcome to the show. There is tons of knowledge and helpful members here. I’m constantly pointing people here from Facebook. It seems a lot of folks would rather post a question as opposed to search and read in the tech section.

I’m assuming you have a Ranger Bronco II or Explorer. What do you have. BTW these guys like pictures.

I drive a beat up 96 Chevy K1500. The guys would get lots of pleasure from pictures of this ragged truck.

I was called by a family member about a 2000 3.0 V6 4X4 Ranger that I bought new. It is 2 hours away and has a blown head gasket. With 240 K miles, I suggested a remanufactured motor and am asking about a good honest shop in Ashville, NC area.

Thanks for advice on search.

I’m a far piece north of there but I’m sure we got fellers in that neighborhood. Stay tuned fren.

Welcome to the site.

From Ashevill, NC? Do you know a short red headed man named Junior? His family has a business there, but I forgot what they do. anyways it's a longshot that you know him.

Welcome to the party.

Hello Drew, I was almost an old man once! Welcome to TRS

Welcome to TRS. I'm not far away. I live between Greer and Spartanburg, SC. Don't know any good shops in your area or mine. I do all my own work whenever possible.

Eric thanks for reply. I was in your area for a grandson's soccer tournament a couple of weeks ago.

The truck is not in my area, Greenwood, but Asheville. The owner, a son , now has found a shop.

Once out of warranty, I did all the work on this 2000 Ranger, while I owned it. even helped with a heater core after I no longer owned it. On the 50, 60, & 70s vehicles not near as bad. I put one clutch in and it had another two or three years ago. Last summer, we had to bleed the donut when it would not go into gear.

My son has been saving up for a few years to make a down payment on another vehicle, but likes this Ranger so he has the money and has found a shop to do the work.

Glad you found a place.
