Ive been wrestling with trying to get the oil level sensor off for days now and I'm getting close to just cutting the wires and re-soldering them after I pull the engine. How do you get this sucker off? The plastic sensor part spins but will not pull out and I cant get a wrench on it. There's got to be some trick to it! It's located drivers side, on the side of the oil pan, you have to access it from underneath. Unfortunately I wasn't able to take a picture of it when i was under the truck.

The sensor itself should have a "nut" end that you just unscrew from the bung in the oil pan

Looks like this: http://contentinfo.autozone.com/znetcs/product-info/en/US/wl2/SU8832/image/2/

Wire/connector should just pull out, it can be tight, but just pull it out

Do you know if autozone sells this switch.

You're spot on with those pictures! The wire/connector will spin, and is a little loose but isn't coming out. I was thinking there is some sort of tab or clip holding it in. Ill get a wrench on just the end part and see if i can get it off. Thanks!

I use a wrench on its side against oil pan then grip connector with pliers and use wrench as fulcrum to get leverage to pull it out
They do sell new connectors, because they can get damaged on removal
Yes, it is held by a spring clip inside sensor, but there is no external release, you just pull it out

If you are still interested, there is a thin slot on the hex area. There is a retainer clip in the slot. Remove the clip and the sensor and wires just pull out.
