OK, so I know the 1st & 2nd Generation Rangers (1983-92) have beds with the same body lines. The body lines changed with the 3rd Generation (1993 - 2011). So, there are essentially two different beds (not accounting for the two bed lengths [6' & 7'] and excluding Mazda B Series).

My question concerns bed liners. Did the interior 'configuration' change as well?

I have an '85 long bed and those bed liners seem to be very few & far between. Would any 7' bed liner work or do I need to keep an eagle eye out for a liner that fits 1983-92 long beds?

TIA

Find you a 2011, look inside and note the bed floor is stamped for dual tanks.

You could not get dual tanks on a Ranger after 1988 model year. :icon_twisted:

The only issue I would see is if it is an over the rail liner. The 93 + bed rails at an inch or 2 wider so the over the rail part will stick out a bit. That can allow air to get under it at highway speeds and blow out of the truck. And it will look odd. An under the rail inner is a direct fit

I gotta guess that the producers of those liners weren't interested in removing that feature from their mold.

Thanks AJ. I'm not a fan of an over-the-rail liner anyways. Under rail with a tonneau cover is what I'm planning.

No, that is the factory steel floor of the truck. Ford never changed the design.
