97 4.0 ranger with 97,000 miles
it started off with the trans (auto) going into 4th gear then dropping out and goin back in really fast, then my cruise control stopped working. idk y
it stopped slipping which i knew right away it wasnt the transmission i figured it was electrical. Then my speedometer stopped working and i found out the speedo sensor wheel had chunks taken out of it.
now it will run fine when i start off then while coasting, ill push on the gas and it will be in a reallly low gear and go to 5000 rpms but still have power so the trans isnt slippin. Maybe the overdrive went out? its hard to explain how its actin people have told me maybe the spark plugs r cracked or wires are worn im checkin that right now and someone told me to check my fuel filter but idk where that is. Some one give me some assistance.
