Odd cable, rear of ranger.

When I was replacing my fuel tank, I spotted an odd, thick, insulated cable on the rear cross member for the rear of the cab.

At first I thought it was a electrical cable, and got underneath.

The cable is mounted to one section of the cab, loops around the frame, and back to the cab.

Not a ground, because its clamped to the cab in two spots.

It is factory (can tell how it's mounted).

Not anything with the parking brake, and like I said it's not electrical.

Can you post a pic?

It attaches to the seat belt bolts. I assume its there to keep the seat belts from going anywhere if they rip out of the floor in a crash.

^^^^ That! Seat belt retainer cable. Crash testing found that the seat belts can be ripped out of the floor if you hit something hard enough.
