I changed the transmission fluid and filter a couple days ago. It seemed to go fine, but I found the dipstick check to be a bit confusing (see this thread for details). Basically I think I have it right.
But since the change I have noticed two strange transmission events. Both were the same. Shortly after starting up (once it was cold, the other about 20 minutes since it had been running), when I pullaway, I think it's shifting late into 2nd. I don't really notice until all of the sudden it lurches into 2nd as if from too high RPM and then in retrospect I realize it didn't seem to have power at the end of the acceleration up to 2nd. This has happened on two occasions, and it never happens again during the drive and nothing
else seems wrong.
Any ideas? Could a not quite right fluid level cause this? Unrelated?
It's an '03 XLT w/ the 4.0L v6 and 5-speed auto transmission.
