Hey everyone! This is Georgiaboy's girlfriend and I'm not sure, as the title suggests, where to put this. So, I chose here. Here's the problem: My boyfriend went out to go to work this afternoon and was complaining that his truck was harder to start today(it was raining). Is this an issue anyone else has had; if so, how do you remedy it?

and just 'cuz my boyfriend doesn't use these, here's a smiley or two to entertain you. :icon_surprised::headbang::) thanks!

hard to start like how?

did it turn over slowly? that could be a dying battery, corroded wires/terminals

did it turn over normally and just didnt start for a while? might not be getting fuel/air/spark.

test the battery and make sure that the terminals are on tight

Could be time for new spark plug wires or it could be a failing coil.

Mist those items with water, at night, with the engine running. You will be able to see arcing from the coil or wires if they are breaking down. You may also hear the idle stumble.

I regularly wash my engine compartment (Simple Green/water, brush and garden hose) and start the engine while it is still wet and drive away. Rain shouldn't make it harder to start unless there is something wrong.

It's turning over normally, but it takes an extra 5 seconds to fire. This happend the last time it rained to. Started fine when i left work last night and it had been raining all day.

I was having idle problems awhile back; so i changed the fuel filter and cleaned the IAC valve which was nasty.

Problem solved.

I got the battery tested. It failed; got a new battery installed and replaced the negative wire end (corroded). So far so good with the starting. Thanks everybody for your help.
