Ran out to grab groceries the other day, engine turned over, but didn't fire, tried again and it fired right up. Same thing happened at my second stop. I got home and after shut down truck wouldn't start again.

Verified battery was good
Replaced starter
Dash lights come on briefly when turned to acc but then die.
No headlights
Can't shift out of park

When I try to start can sometimes hear clicking coming from the fuse compartment in the cab and once heard s rapid clicking coming from the engine fuse block. Is this possibly a bad ignition relay? Thanks!

2010 ranger sport 4.0 liter 4wd.

BOTH Battery cables need to be cleaned at BOTH ends, or replaced

Battery supplies all the voltage when engine is off, if you don't have all the lights on the dash with key on then you don't have battery voltage, simple as that
Relay clicking noise means some voltage is getting thru but not enough to activate a 12volt relay, so under 6volts
Which means bad battery connection or bad wire/cable

Negative battery cables/wires supply the same voltage as positive, just FYI, there is no positive volts if the is no negative volts
Want to test that, unhook negative cable and try turn something on.....................lol, so.............check negative side as well
