no speedo

I have a 97 ranger with a sohc swap that i did everything is working got some evap codes but thats ok for now. but the speedo is inop check wiring all good speed sensor is the same from 87 to 03 i dont know what to do or check. any help would be great.

Nope speedo for a 87 comes from transmission and is cable, speedo from 03 is from rear end speed sensor.

ok then ford is wrong on the years. My engine harness is from a 03 and it as a speed sensor plug at the trans. This is a manual. I just dont get why it wont work any help would be great.
