while driving home tonight my running lights as well as my dash lights all went out... when i got home i found the fuse and it was fine... What do i do next?! i still have headlights as that is on a separate circuit...

I'd check out things around the headlight switch. They tend to go out and have wires burn right at the connectors.

yeah i found on another site that it is (possibly) the tan wire... ill follow that back and check it out... of course last night at 10:30 this was a little more worrying than it was this morning during daylight...

I know how it is. I had my headlight switch quit at about 11pm 20 miles from home. Luckily was at my grandma's and my mm was there and coming home. I followed her home with nothing but brake lights.

That crappy switch is a good reason to need aftermarket lights, btw.

yeah ive got a set of old school KC daylighter knockoffs, what do you think the problem that causes the wire to fail? i have a cheaper set of headlights in it... they came with the header panel i bought to replace my old broken one... could that maybe be the problem, or is it not really a matter of the lights and just a flaw in the system they used?

It's just corrosion at the connectors causes high resistance which causes heat. Not really a flaw just something that happens with all vehicles. It is made worse by using barely large enough wire though.

At least it's not like the Chrysler products I've seen. I'm pretty sure somebody there gave an order to drop the size of the wire by 2 on everything they had. Seriously, my headphones have bigger wire than the starter solenoid on a couple I've seen.
