So I've recently changed my whole perspective on vehicles. The bronco II interests me but I need to know what I'm getting into by selling my current truck. Vehicle in question: 85 bronco II. What's an average mpg stock? Is there a back seat? This is my first bronco and second ford so im pretty new on issues to look out for. Thanks for any advice

average mpg stock? w/ my b2 stock (long time ago!!) i got somewhere around 17 in town and 20 on the interstate... but feels "underpowered" IMO. which is why i did a 4.0 swap.

back seat, yes.. if its like mine.

its actually not to bad uncomfy back there, once you get in... being a 2 door and a small suv making getting in hard for some people..but mine is lifted some to.

Wow only 17. What do you get with bullet proof 4.0? (I learned to love the 4.0 when I had an explorer) I'm coming from a 450hp truck, so everything feels underpowered to me. But with a 1200 yes over 1 thousand bucks a month for gas it's time for a change. Do most B2's have rear seats stock though? I haven't been to look at the one I want yet.

to be fair.. my 2.9 ran rich. idk why, we replaced everything... it was a pretty fresh rebuild at the time to. idk.. i gave up and went w/ the 4.0 swap for a little more power. now... my 4.0 (before i added 33's; so think automatic trans, 30's, 3.73's) got 18 in town and 21-22 interstate. so it didn't change to much but the gain in power is awesome IMO. some people say do a 5.0 swap... its all personal preference. i've read on here people say the 2.9 all stock can get 20 or so in town. lets be serious, if you want gas mileage-- buy a prius/focus/fiesta/etc...

every b2 i've seen has had rear seats. :icon_thumby: doesn't mean anything tho, some may not. i've never seen one w/out..even in JunkYards.

If someone can tell me how to remove the seats that would be great! But seriously, every b-II I've seen has back seats. I've owned 6. I get 14.75 mpg [us] city delivering pizzas with my '85 b-II/4.0/5-spd/4.10 gears/31x8.5-15". And welcome to TRS.

Scaring me guys but if the bronco I'm thinking about is in decent shape... I'll get it. But it's not all about the mpgs but find me a 4x4 Prius and I'll get it because that would be sweet. I've considered a car actually but if I can't get it dirty it ain't for me. Thanks guys!

I'd probably improve my mileage 20% by keeping my foot out of it.
