Ok, so I got the new radiator and crank shaft seal installed, this morning after driving around town and back home the top of the radiator is still cold including the radiator cap. Would the coolant being low cause this? I added about a half gallon of 50/50 coolant/water mix after I got back home as the level was low. Best of all no more coolant leaks and no more oil leaking all over either. Just wondering if the low coolant level alone would cause the top part of the radiator to be cold still, total of about 10 miles driven, so I had heat, and both radiator hoses were hot.

Yup. Make sure you get all the air out of the system. Might take a bit of driving and running the engine.

Do you really care where this was sent from?

Yea, just run it for awhile. Mine was like that the last time I did a rad flush. The next couple of days it was back to notmal. The temp gauge never showed it was hot, so I was not worried about it. Keep an eye on the gauge.

Parking it on a steep hill pointing up will burp the system also. Keep coolant in the overflow tank at the hot level when the engine is hot. You did put a new radiator cap on correct?

Thanks everyone. No, I will be putting a new radiator cap on when I get paid. I run out of money before days in the month so the old cap will have to do until whenever I get paid next. Yeah I know it needs replaced, but the B2 isn't exactly a priority at any point so it mostly just sits in the driveway. I just drove it around today to see if it was going to hold up, and other than losing coolant from one of the radiator hoses it's been ok. Clamp wasn't tight enough on the lower radiator hose on the engine side, so now that's fixed. I'm hoping I get my check tomorrow so I can go get some more stuff for it. Radiator cap, and new engine oil for starters.

According to my aftermarket gauge it stays around 195-200 degrees constantly. Just topped off the radiator again then took it out for a longer drive. Seems to have corrected itself.

Tomorrow I'll be replacing the radiator cap. I can take my current cap off right after driving it for about 20 minutes and there's very little if any pressure released. This tells me my cap is shot. However, I know now that the radiator is fine, finally got the air worked out of the system, filled it up before work again this morning and the coolant level hasn't dropped anymore. I will also replace the upper radiator hose as its a bit short for this new radiator so it is at a very odd angle which left the hose somewhat twisted and compressed on the engine side. Temperature has leveled out to about 195-200 degrees as I mentioned in my last post and it doesn't hardly move past 200 degrees anymore.

Drove it around Thursday afternoon, and used it yesterday and today to go to work and haven't had to add any oil...a huge plus for me. Tired of having to buy oil.
