Just did a 4.0 radiator conversion. And replaced my water pump, i have heard that a bubble can form when filling the system causing poor cooling performance. How can this be avoided when filling. Or should i even be worried about this.

Does your t-stat have the "pellet" in it? If so, clock it at 12 o'clock. I don't know for sure if the 3.0 has one, but I am thinking that it does. On my 4.0's, I usually cut the pellet out and make that hole a bit larger. It helps the air bubbles escape.

pellet? ill have to look for this, any other suggestions?

I have found two good ways to avoid the "bubble".

1) Go spend a $150 on an Airlift/Rad Kit, etc and pull a vacuum on the cooling system.

2) Fill the rad, then pull one of the heater hoses off and pour coolant down the hose until it starts running out the core. Overfill the overflow a hair, and as you drive it it will correct itself.

I will use both methods, depending on the type of cooling system. If it has a proper degas bottle the rad kit works better, but if it has a pressure cap on the radiator and an open overflow bottle it can be hard to get the vac system to seal properly. Then the heater hose is the better bet.
