so my last post was for backfire and no spark come to find out it was the pip.. well i got the old beast running again then was driving two days later stopped at a light and it died... wouldnt re start and the starter sounded like it was whirring at 100 mph so i screwed around with a bunch of stuff and after a new coil and icm..ok 4 icms to be axact dont ask why i just kept getting them from friends and i bought one so if you need one pay for shipping and ill send it out lol but anyway decided to pull the dist to check the little gear on the end considering i pulled it off to replace the pip when i was getting it off i broke a few teeth on it but figured it was ok so when i pulled it back out i figured that was my problem so i got another dist out of and old stang and popped it on.. no difference.. so i left the cap off the dist and watched to see if the dist was turning and it didnt so if you know where this is heading you know the timing belt must have snapped so i proceeded to yank off the cover and the belt wasnt snapped. so i reached down and turned the crank by hand and watched the crank move and nothing else .. come to find out the belt had no teeth on about 5 inches of it and that 5 inches happened to be around the crank pulley i pulled it off and got a new one on and she started right up. its running a little weird now i think i was off a tooth or two so ima get back in there and get her right tomorrow but that was my problem and i wanted to share so somebody else who runs into this problem doesnt just peek under the cover on the cam and say belts good it only takes about 10 min to fully check it i hope this saves somebody money and time
