Hey guys, brand new here. I posted in the intro forum but for a quick rundown, I just came into possession of a 2009 XL Supercab 4x4, 4.0 auto, through an auction at my work. It's an old company vehicle, has 172K on it, and I won it for the princely sum of $801.
Sooo, the catch, of course, is that the transmission is a little fubared. I just went down and started the truck. It fires right up, which is good.
If you put it in reverse, it does not move. If you drop it down to 1, it will move under its own power. I tried it briefly in D but it didn't act like it wanted to do much. If you go directly from 1 to R, it will move slowly in reverse but kinda sounds like it's slipping.
What am I looking at here work-wise?
I have to move it by the end of the week so I'm going to load it on a trailer, take it home and put it in my garage. Not in any big rush to have it fixed, I want to make sure it's done right so I can drive it for awhile.
