I just found this forum. I have a 2001 Ranger XLT, 4.0 liter V6, 4WD. the air blower is stuck in the DEFROST position, one youtube video suggests it may be a vacuum issue, though that was for an earlier year. Is anyone familiar with this problem and fix? Thanks in advance.

Lots of talent here to help, we just need a member with relevant experience to notice and respond. 🙂

Welcome. I don't know the newer Rangers, I work on first gen rangers. Remove the blower motor and see if all kinds of leaf's and debris has gotten behind the door and not letting it move.

If it's going to be stuck in one position, DEFROST is the correct position. Anytime I install a heat controller, they are in the defrost position, just in case 🙂
