Just wanted to introduce myself and say hi to all.
I just purchased a ranger this weekend as a project/work truck. I've been a Ford driver for a long time now but this is my first truck.
Started in a Escort then moved up to a Contour, then bought my first new car a 2001 Escape V6 4x4, then got a 1996 Lincoln Continental for a bit till I upgraded to a 2005 Lincoln LS (current every day driver)
I have a few small projects for my new ranger to get her road worthy.
The rear leaf spring hanger is rusted and broken on the driver side so that is first. Then the usual oil change, rad flush and tuneup I guess. Then the fun begins. I'm going to poke around a bit and see what fin things I can get into.
If anyone has any warnings, rants, raves about the truck please let me know.
Is there anything I should be on the lookout for. Common problems with my vintage ranger? I've seen the rear suspension supports rusting already but I need to over the truck with a fine tooth comb, don't want to lose it without having some fun with her first.
Thanks all!
Vince
