Hello all! Recently, April 2nd, my papaw passed away at the age of 88. It's been rough, he was a great man and I was very close with him my whole life. He had a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 2wd which is now mine. I wish it were a 4wd but I'm not complaining as it is a free truck and I know my Papaw would be extremely happy that I am the new owner.
I currently drive a Chrysler 300 and had plans of getting a truck. My plan was to get a 4x4 (no specific model in mind) and lift it and put some bigger off road tires on it. I've wanted a truck for a while to be able to haul my dirt bike around and just simply because I wanted a truck lol. Now, with the passing of my grandfather and receiving his Ranger I have decided to have it as my truck which will be my vehicle to drive to and from work and haul my dirt bike with. I'm going to sell my Chrysler and purchase a BMW 335i to build (the N54 TT engine is a BEAST!) and as my daily driver outside of work.
Since I have gotten the Ranger I have been researching like crazy as it will not remain stock under my ownership
. My initial plans for the ranger are a 4" rough country lift, 32×11.50r15 tires/wheels, fender flares and some side step bars. I may do a few other mods down the road such as an exhaust but for now I'm just going to get it looking how I want it to. Again, I wish it were a 4x4 because I wanted something 4wd but this truck has sentimental value plus it's free! Sorry for the long post I just thought I would introduce myself and give a little background on my situation since it's not your usual case of someone just going out and purchasing the truck. I look forward to interacting with y'all and hopefully someday I can contribute something while I'm here.
