Well I went out this morning to go to work and my throttle cable broke in half. The ball and about an inch. Broke off from the pedal side of the cable. I can't find a cable anywhere. Anyone know where I can buy one asap? Can I use a lokar one from summit? I live about 20 min from there. Anyone have a size,pn, or link? What do I do about the cable bracket on the manifold? I'm having to use a borrowed rig, so I need this going asap!

did you check the junkyard?
thats always my first stop

I have one on my 94 parts truck, not sure if it would fit but I'd send it to you for the cost of shipping.

No junkyard around here has one, and its a different pn between the ranger and b2. Only ranger one I can find is 1st gen 2.0 and 2.3

I'm having the same problem. Can't find one for the 2.9L.

I know of a few 2.8 BII's around my local yard, but it would be Saturday until I can get to them (if my back will let me), and then Monday or later until I could get it in the mail

I've made shifter mountedd hand throttles so maybe I could mod the carbs throttle arm and use a bike cable

do you have enought cable to put an rc car throttle linkage adjusting nut on?

u need one for a broncII? If so i can probably get u one monday the local junkyard just got one it,I looked and it has a throttle cable 2.9 yous for cost and shipping.

I haven't done it for the Ranger, but I've used bike brake cables before - in a pinch you could probably silver-solder in a patch until you can get the real deal.

Well I wenty to summit today and took my old cable wit me and bought a 24" lokar cut to fit cable. The pedal end is different so I'm gonna put the stock plastic clip on the cable so I can clip it into the pedal, and let the lokar end hang off, won't be in the way or anything, be about like the ziptie mod(the extra hanging off) and the carb end works, and the cable even has a carb stud. And the cable will work with the b2 firewall and cable bracket.

Ill post some pics tomorrow when its installed in case someone else needs to fab a cable

Edit: I just figured out that u can take the wire out of the cable sleeve and the lokar end comes off and u can put the factory rbv plastic on there and it will fit like stock

Well I got it on and it fits perfect. I didn't cut it down I just ran it down behind the motor some, but it works out good as I'm able to ziptie my reverse light loom to it so its not just moving around. The lokar cable is a lot smoother then the stock cable. Only thing I had to do was put a washer on either side of the firewall so the cable would be nice and tight. Fits like stock and took maube 5 min to install
